Designed for the Chongqing Sun Agricultural Development Company, the concept for this 2,345-acre master plan is derived from the powerful history of agriculture in China rooted deeply within the site. As city dwellers increasingly seek more rural and picturesque places to live, this project serves to reunite them with the land in a way that preserves and respects the site’s agricultural background. While new residents here are not actively involved in farming, they live within the groves and fields where produce is grown. The proposal’s agricultural concept is developed through appropriate geographic location of specific crops. In addition to providing beautiful places to live, the site is rich with recreational opportunities including a network of lakes, golf courses, and hiking trails, which in turn assist the ecological processes vital to the site’s agricultural production.
