Desiring of an open, collaborative environment to foster creativity and provide a unique experience for users, SRI worked with a team of local and European staff engineers to develop a prototype space for the re-imagining of their local presence. The final design incorporates exposed architecture, a variety of raw metal studs, open ceiling structure with acoustical elements, open and tiled areas, and glass surfaces with solar imagery. The work environment contains open office planning stations and huddle rooms, phone booths, client presentation rooms, and staff area with ping-pong table, break counter, flat screens, and a writing wall constructed of white glass writing panels for impromptu creativity and inspiration. The hub and meeting spaces open fully with stacking glass panels to accommodate private or open meetings. The lobby also serves as a lounge, with an exposed glassed-in equipment demo room. A chalkboard in the entry is used to welcome clients and spills into a large café/bar with banquet booth, bar and table top seating. Working with Solar’s furniture consultants, SRI also took part in furniture and materials selection, ensuring the project was completed on budget.
