The latest in sustainability: one of our more recent projects, the renovation and expansion of the KPBS Conrad Prebys Media Complex at Copley Center (at San Diego State University), completed in 2022 by Safdie Rabines Architects in collaboration with Clark Construction, has received LEED Silver Certification!
For this project, Safdie Rabines Architects increased natural daylight throughout the building while simultaneously designing for solar protection and energy efficiency. Design elements included large roof overhangs and deep eyebrows along the building, high-performance glazing throughout, and at the double height lobby area an encapsulated metal mesh within the glazing to further reduce heat gain and glare.
