The University of California San Diego has announced its plans in developing a ‘grand entrance’ that is set to blur the lines between community living and academic learning, and the Safdie Rabines Architects team is thrilled to have a seat at the table in articulating this vision into a reality. From an outdoor amphitheater, extended metro line, dining and retail venues, and more, this transforming University aims to cultivate deeper support from the public and spark new life within the campus.

Safdie Rabines began its first project with UCSD back in 2003 and has since, managed the design and development of various academic buildings, pedestrian bridges, state-of-the-art student housing facilities, and other projects that complement the infrastructure of the new campus. With ongoing projects estimated to finish development in late 2021, the Safdie Rabines team is working diligently to create a University campus that interacts with both, the student body and the surrounding community.
